Virginia’s Hotel Indigo offers private sailing lessons with their “Set Sail” package. Keeping up with in-room nautical themes, the only waterfront hotel in Alexandria will include a private sailing lesson at the Belle Haven Marina. After sailing all afternoon, guests can enjoy local wine and oysters on the half shell from chef Cathal Armstrong’s seafood restaurant Hummingbird. There is also the option for an overnight stay with a complimentary upgrade in a King water view guest room, complete with a maritime-themed amenity. Bookings must be made two weeks in advance and are available now through September 28th.

This establishment, which opened its doors in spring 2016 is the first to establish itself on
banks of the Potomac. Great location in the old town, this boutique hotel houses a restaurant, the Hummingbird, which serves delicious local cuisine whose menu changes according to the
seasons!
To lobby or not to lobby, that is no longer the question for D.C.'s newer hotels.
